समाजवादी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव ने कहा है कि उत्तर प्रदेश में स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं चौपट हैं। जनता स्वास्थ्य विभाग की अव्यवस्थाओं की लगातार शिकार हो रही है। मुख्यमंत्री के ताबड़तोड़ आदेशों-निर्देशों और स्वास्थ्य मंत्री के बार-बार शर्मिंदा होने के बावजूद हालात सुधर नहीं रहे हैं। ऐसी दुर्व्यवस्था पहले कभी नहीं देखी गई।

इसी क्रम में उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि, रामनगरी के अस्पताल भी राम भरोसे हो गए हैं। अयोध्या में विशेषज्ञ, चिकित्सक न होने से दिल के मरीज़ों का इलाज बाधित है। गोरखपुर का बीबीडी अस्पताल भी खुद असुविधाओं का शिकार है। बेहतरीन इलाज की उम्मीद में प्रयागराज निवासी बलराम यादव अपने किडनी रोग पीड़ित 12 वर्ष के बच्चे को लेकर केजीएमयू आया, वहां से उसे लाहिया संस्थान भेज दिया गया। वहां भी इलाज नहीं मिला तो पीजीआई की ओपीडी में दिखाया जहां डाक्टरों ने इलाज में मोटी रकम खर्च होने की बात कही तो निराश पिता वापस प्रयागराज लौट गया।

अखिलेश यादव ने यह भी कहा कि, "सस्ता और गुणवत्तापूर्ण इलाज का सपना उत्तर प्रदेश में सपना ही रह गया है। सरकारी अस्पतालों में बेड और वेंटिलेटर का खेल चल रहा है। मरीज़ हलकान होकर इधर से उधर भटकते रहते हैं। भाजपा सरकार की संवेदना जागती नहीं है। ग़रीब आदमी सड़क पर मरने को विवश है। मुख्यमंत्री जी के सभी दावे थोथे और खोखले नज़र आते हैं।"
