96th governing body meeting of SGPGI MS concluded

Lucknow: (governing body meeting) The 96th governing body meeting of the institute was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary and Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences Durga Shankar Mishra. In the meeting, Director SGPGI MS Prof RK Dhiman presented various agendas related to various administrative matters as well as opening of new departments, increase in resident doctors, academic courses.

लखनऊ: मुख्य सचिव एवं संजय गांधी स्नातकोत्तर आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान के अध्यक्ष दुर्गा शंकर मिश्र की अध्यक्षता में संस्थान की 96वीं शासी निकाय की बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में निदेशक एसजीपीजीआईएमएस प्रो आर० के० धीमान ने विभिन्न प्रशासनिक मामलों के साथ-साथ नए विभागों की शुरुआत, रेजिडेंट डॉक्टरों में वृद्धि, शैक्षणिक पाठ्यक्रमों से संबंधित विभिन्न एजेंडा प्रस्तुत किए।

The meeting approved the creation of new departments for Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Endocrinology and Infectious Diseases and Vaccine Research. Despite Uttar Pradesh being the largest state in terms of population, none of the hospitals had a dedicated head and neck surgery department. Head and neck surgery department is being started in SGPGI MS, which will provide proper treatment to the patients of head and neck cancer. The state of Uttar Pradesh accounts for 21 percent of the total cancer cases in the entire country. After the formation of this department, head and neck cancer will be treated in a better and organized manner.

बैठक में सिर और गर्दन की सर्जरी, बाल चिकित्सा एंडोक्रिनोलॉजी और संक्रामक रोग और वैक्सीन अनुसंधान के लिये नए विभागों के निर्माण की मंजूरी प्रदान की गई। उत्तर प्रदेश जनसंख्या की दृष्टि से सबसे बड़ा राज्य होने के बावजूद किसी भी अस्पताल में एक समर्पित सिर और गर्दन की सर्जरी विभाग नहीं था। एसजीपीजीआईएमएस में सिर और गर्दन की सर्जरी विभाग की शुरूआत की जा रही है, जो कि सिर और गर्दन के कैंसर के रोगियों का समुचित उपचार करेगा। पूरे देश में उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य से कुल 21 प्रतिशत कैंसर के मामलों आते है। इस विभाग के बनने के बाद सिर और गर्दन के कैंसर का बेहतर और संगठित तरीके से इलाज किया जाएगा।

The Department of Pediatric Endocrinology will function as a specialist department in the field of growth and development in children. The Institute started the first formal training program in Pediatric Endocrinology in 2001. Now the cases of diabetes, obesity, thyroid and other disorders prevalent in children can be treated with complete dedication after the formation of the department.

बाल चिकित्सा एंडोक्रिनोलॉजी विभाग बच्चों में विकास और वृद्धि के क्षेत्र में विशेषज्ञ विभाग के तौर पर कार्य करेगा। संस्थान ने 2001 में बाल चिकित्सा एंडोक्रिनोलॉजी में पहला औपचारिक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम शुरू किया था। अब मधुमेह, मोटापा, थायराइड और बच्चों में प्रचलित अन्य विकारों के मामलों का विभाग के गठन के बाद पूर्ण समर्पण के साथ इलाज किया जा सकेगा।

In view of the urgent need of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Vaccine Development post the COVID pandemic, this new department of SGPGIMS will exclusively treat infectious diseases like Swine Flu, Japanese Encephalitis, Viral Hepatitis and Corona. These new departments are of utmost importance in view of throat cancer, pediatric complications and the recent COVID pandemic. The state of Uttar Pradesh will be benefited in the long run by the availability of special treatment in these new departments.

कोविड महामारी के बाद संक्रामक रोग और वैक्सीन विकास विभाग की अत्यधिक आवश्यकता के दृष्टिगत एसजीपीजीआईएमएस का यह नया विभाग विशेष रूप से स्वाइन फ्लू, जापानी इंसेफेलाइटिस, वायरल हेपेटाइटिस और कोरोना जैसे संक्रामक रोगों का उपचार करेगा। गले के कैंसर, बाल चिकित्सा जटिलताओं और हाल ही में हुई कोविड महामारी को देखते हुए ये नए विभाग अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण हैं। इन नए विभागों में विशेष उपचार की उपलब्धता से उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य को दीर्घकालीन लाभ होगा।

Approval was also given in the meeting for increase in Bsc and Msc seats in Nursing College and introduction of new courses in various departments. The Director assured the Chief Secretary that the Institute would provide best medical services by better utilization and augmentation of all the resources and facilities. Principal Secretary Medical Education Alok Kumar gave his valuable suggestions towards improving overall efficiency and improving educational standards. Executive Registrar SGPGIMS Col Varun Bajpai VSM and other members of the Governing Body were also present in the meeting.

बैठक में नर्सिंग कॉलेज में बीएससी और एमएससी सीटों में भी वृद्धि और विभिन्न विभागों में नए पाठ्यक्रमों के शुरूआत को मंज़ूरी प्रदान की गई। निदेशक ने मुख्य सचिव को आश्वासन दिया कि, संस्थान सभी संसाधनों और सुविधाओं का बेहतर उपयोग और वृद्धि कर सर्वोत्तम चिकित्सा सेवायें प्रदान करेगा। प्रमुख सचिव चिकित्सा शिक्षा आलोक कुमार ने समग्र कार्यक्षमता में सुधार और शैक्षिक मानकों में सुधार की दिशा में अपने बहुमूल्य सुझाव दिए। बैठक में कार्यकारी रजिस्ट्रार एसजीपीजीआईएमएस कर्नल वरुण बाजपेयी वीएसएम तथा शासी निकाय के अन्य सदस्यगण भी उपस्थित थे।
