Janmitra Samman to Kunal Majumdar Advisor/Journalist of Committee to Protect Journalists

Varanasi: (Janmitra Samman) Human Rights People's Monitoring Committee (PVCHR) People's Initiative for Participatory Action on Food Labeling (PIPAL), Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Panchayat under the joint aegis of United Nation Voluntary Fund for Torture Victims (UNVFVT) and International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) Lok Vidyalaya on “Constitutional Rights, Health and Nutrition” was organized at Hotel Diamond, Bhelupur on 27th August, 2022. About 60 people of Varanasi city were present in this program.

वाराणसी: मानवाधिकार जननिगरानी समिति (PVCHR) पीपुल्स इनिशिएटिव फॉर पार्टिसिपेटरी एक्शन ऑन फूड लेबलिंग (PEOPLE), सावित्री बाई फुले महिला पंचायत द्वारा यूनाइटेड नेशन वालेंटरी फण्ड फॉर टार्चर विक्टिम्स (UNVFVT) व इंटरनेशनल रिहैबिलिटेशन काउंसिल फॉर टार्चर विक्टिम्स (IRCT) के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में “संवैधानिक अधिकार, स्वास्थ्य व पोषण” पर लोक विद्यालय का आयोजन होटल डायमंड, भेलूपुर में 27 अगस्त, 2022 को किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में वाराणसी शहर के तक़रीबन 60 लोग उपस्थित थे।

On this occasion, Senior Journalist Kunal Mazumdar, Advisor to “Committee to Protect Journalists” was given "Janmitra Samman" for his unwavering and exceptional commitment to addressing and documenting the safety of journalists in India. The honor was given to him by Mahant Vishambhar Nath Mishra, Professor and Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering, IIT, Banaras Hindu University and Pandit Prabhas Maharaj, a well-known tabla player.

इस मौक़े पर “कमेटी टू प्रोटेक्ट जर्नलिस्ट्स" के सलाहकार व वरिष्ठ पत्रकार कुणाल मज़ुमदार को जनमित्र सम्मान दिया गया। यह सम्मान भारत में पत्रकारों की सुरक्षा को संबोधित करने और उसका दस्तावेजीकरण करने के लिए, उनकी अडिग और असाधारण प्रतिबद्धता के लिए दिया गया। यह सम्मान उन्हें महंत विशम्भर नाथ मिश्र प्रोफेसर एवं विभागाध्यक्ष इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंजिनीरिंग, आई० आई० टी, काशी हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय और पंडित प्रभाष महाराज, सुप्रसिद्ध तबला वादक द्वारा दिया गया।

Janmitra Samman सम्मान प्राप्त करने के पश्चात श्री कुणाल मजुमदार ने कहा कि, “स्वतंत्र और निष्पक्ष समाचार मीडिया के संचालन के लिए प्रेसस्वतंत्रता और पत्रकार की सुरक्षा अनिवार्य हैं। मैं वास्तव में एक जमीनी स्तर के संगठन द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त करने के लिए सम्मानित महसूस कर रहा हूं|”

On this occasion, A book was released jointly written by two senior journalists. First of all, Abhishek Srivastava's book "Ten years of travel from corruption to nationalism in the name of common man" was released. In his book, from the anti-corruption movement to the Aam Aadmi Party via India Against Corruption, it is crucial to understand the politics and its leadership. In this book, he has tried to understand by keeping time in context, as well as trying to see the changing and deteriorating aspects of society and politics within his personality.

इस मौक़े पर संयुक्त रूप से दो वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों द्वारा लिखी पुस्तक का विमोचन किया गया। सबसे पहले अभिषेक श्रीवास्तव की पुस्तक "आम आदमी के नाम पर भ्रष्‍टाचार विरोध से राष्‍ट्रवाद तक दस साल का सफरनामा" का विमोचन किया गया। उन्होंने अपने पुस्तक में भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी आन्दोलन से लेकर आम आदमी पार्टी वाया इंडिया अगेंस्ट करप्शन तक की राजनीति को व इसके नेतृत्व को समझना निर्णायक है। इस पुस्तक में उन्होंने समय सन्दर्भ में रखकर समझने की कोशिश है, साथ ही उसके व्यक्तित्व के भीतर बदलते-बिगड़ते समाज व राजनीति का अक़्स देखने की कोशिश भी की है।

उसके बाद विजय विनीत द्वारा लिखी पुस्तक "बनारसी घाट का जिद्दी इश्क" का विमोचन किया गया। उन्होंने अपनी इस किताब में लिखा है कि, "एक रहस्य सरीखा है बनारसी इश्क। इसे बुझने के लिए डूबना पड़ता है। ख़ुद किरदार बनना पड़ता है। इस शहर में इश्क तभी होता है, जब कोई रिश्ता अधूरा होता है। इसकी अनुभूति में ब्रह्म एकमेव सत्ता है, बाकी सब मिथ्या है। विजय विनीत ने नफ़रत के दौर में प्रेम का सन्देश देकर मानवता निर्माण में मील का पत्थर साबित किया है।"

In the Presidential address, Mahant Vishambhar Nath Mishra, Professor, Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering, IIT, Banaras Hindu University first congratulated CPG advisor Kunal Majumdar for the Janmitra Samman. Along with this, he thanked for the books of both the senior journalists. In his further dialogue, appreciated the work of C.P.G. At the same time, he demanded from the Government of India that a law should be made for the protection of the journalist. Then he thanked the People Network constituted by the Human Rights Public Monitoring Committee for working on the health and nutrition of the people and making the underprivileged community aware.

अध्यक्षी उद्बोधन में महंत विशम्भर नाथ मिश्र, प्रोफेसर, विभागाध्यक्ष इलेक्ट्रॉनिक इंजिनीरिंग, आई० आई० टी, काशी हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय ने सबसे पहले सी०पे०जी० के सलाहकार कुणाल मजुमदार को जनमित्र सम्मान के लिए बधाई दिया। इसके साथ में ही उन्होंने दोनों वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों की किताबों के लिए साधुवाद दिया। आगे अपने संवाद में सी०पे०जी० के कार्य को सराहा। वहीँ उन्होंने भारत सरकार से माँग रखी कि, पत्रकार की सुरक्षा के लिए कानून बनाना चाहिए। मानवाधिकार जननिगरानी समिति द्वारा गठित पीपल नेटवर्क को लोगो के स्वास्थ्य व पोषण पर कार्य करने व वंचित समुदाय को जागरूक करने के लिए धन्यवाद दिया।

He further said in his statement that “the government should immediately bring a warning label on the packaged food according to the standard of the World Health Organization, so that non-communicable diseases can be reduced and food trade can also increase in other countries. At the end of the program, a memorandum was signed and sent to Hon'ble President and Hon'ble Health Minister, Government of India to implement the warning label on packet food.

उन्होंने आगे अपने वक्तव्य में कहा कि “सरकार को अविलम्ब पैकेट फ़ूड पर विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के मानक अनुसार वार्निंग लेबल लाना चाहिये, जिससे गैर संचारी रोगों में कमी आ सके और अन्य देशो में खाद्य व्यापार भी बढ़ सके। कार्यक्रम के अंत में पैकेट फ़ूड पर वार्निंग लेबल को लागू करने के लिए महामहिम राष्ट्रपति व माननीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री, भारत सरकार को हस्ताक्षर करके ज्ञापन प्रेषित किया गया।
