Free Family Passes for Contracted UPSRTC Workers
Lucknow: Great news for UPSRTC employees and their families! The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has just introduced a fantastic initiative. They will now be providing Free Family Passes for the families of their contractual workers, which includes drivers, conductors, and those working in the company’s workshops directly under contract.
What does this mean for the hardworking staff of the transport company? They will now have access to a family travel pass benefit that can be used up to five times a year. This includes two complimentary family travel passes and three PTO (Privilege Ticket Order) family travel passes. It’s a fantastic perk that will make commuting and traveling with loved ones much more convenient.
However, it’s important to note that this benefit won’t be extended to personnel employed through outsourcing or retired workers who are engaged on a contract basis.
This decision (Free Family Passes) by the state government has brought a lot of joy to the employees of UPSRTC. The decision was made during a recent meeting of the board of directors, which was chaired by the principal secretary of the transport company.
For those who may not be eligible for this particular benefit, please note that it is a decision made with the best interests of the contractual workers in mind. The goal is to provide valuable support to those actively employed in the organization.
Instructions have already been issued to regional managers to implement this new system (Free Family Passes), which will undoubtedly be a welcomed change for many.
Victory for Mumbai’s BEST Workers: Free Bus Passes (Family Passes) Granted Amid Strike, Union Pushes for More
In a significant win for over 6,500 drivers and conductors of leased buses in Mumbai’s BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) organization, they’ve been granted free bus passes, meeting one of their key demands during a strike that took place in August.
The Sangharsh Kamgar Karmachari union, representing these workers, has made it clear that they’re ready for further action if their remaining demands aren’t addressed.
According to a BEST spokesperson, the transport business won’t face any financial burden because the cost will be covered by the private bus contractors. Additionally, the union is hopeful for a salary increase from the private bus contractors, along with a Diwali bonus this month.
However, the core demand of the union remains unchanged: they seek equal compensation and benefits for leased bus drivers, as mandated by the law. This development is a positive step, but the battle for fair treatment continues.
