Rigidity in Saurashtra as ill-feeling grows amongst Dalits and Rajputs over kidnapping

AHMEDABAD

Rigidity is simmering between Dalits and Rajputs in Gondal within the Saurashtra area after NSUI chief Sanjay Solanki was allegedly assaulted by Ganesh Gondal, son of BJP MLA Geetaba Jadeja.

On June 12, Dalits held a rally demanding justice for Mr. Solanki, who was reportedly kidnapped and overwhelmed by Ganesh Gondal. Gondal’s dad and mom, legislator Geetaba and her husband and former legislator Jayrajsinh Jadeja, wield appreciable affect within the space.

Ganesh Gondal has been arrested and he’s in judicial custody. The incident was apparently triggered when NSUI chief Sanjay Solanki, whose father can be a neighborhood chief amongst Dalits, instructed Ganesh Gondal alias Ganesh Jadeja to drive rigorously after his automobile almost hit the two-wheeler Solanki was driving, on June 6 in Junagadh.

The subsequent day, reportedly on the occasion of Ganesh Jadeja, Solanki’s two-wheeler was rammed by attackers in a automobile who dragged him into their automobile. Based on the grievance, Mr. Solanki was “kidnapped and badly thrashed.”

On Wednesday; a motorbike rally demanding justice for Solanki was organised by a Dalit neighborhood outfit from Junagadh to Gondal.

“After the primary altercation, a sequence of incidents occurred and that has aggravated the state of affairs,” a police official stated.

As Dalits took out a motorbike rally, supporters of the Jadeja household ensured that just about 50 villages in Gondal taluka and its advertising yard; which is without doubt one of the largest in Saurashtra area, remained closed in solidarity with Ganesh and his household.

Ganesh’s father, Jayrajsinh Jadeja, refused to touch upon the bike rally organised by the Dalits and the strike known as by his supporters within the villages and Gondal APMC.
