Uttar Pradesh: Two convicted for homicide of retired college principal | Lucknow Information




LUCKNOW: A particular NIA courtroom in Lucknow on Monday convicted two individuals, Atif Muzaffar and Mohammed Faisal Khan, in a case associated to killing of a retired college principal allegedly below the affect of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
The courtroom charged the 2 responsible below the sections of IPC 302 (homicide), 120 B (felony conspiracy), together with sections of Illegal Actions Prevention Act. (UAPA). The courtroom will pronounce the quantum of punishment within the case on September 11.
NIA stated that on October 24, 2016, Ram Babu Shukla, who retired as principal of Swami Atmaprakash Brahmchari Junior Excessive College in Kanpur, was killed whereas he was returning residence on a bicycle. He was attacked by the accused close to village Pyondi in Kanpur. The case was handed over to the NIA in November 2017.
The anti-terror company had filed a chargesheet towards the 2 accused on July 12, 2018 after investigations revealed that the accused had been radicalised by the ISIS ideology and have been out to kill folks whom they believed to be disbelievers. A 3rd accused, Mohammad Saifulla, had died in Lucknow in the course of the trade of fireside with the Anti-Terrorist Squad, March 7, 2017.
Investigations by NIA revealed that the accused have been working below the affect of ISIS, a banned terrorist organisation.
“They’d murdered Ram Babu Shukla to strike terror and alarm within the minds of the frequent folks,” NIA stated.
