“Post Covid, for a couple of years, we decided to consolidate our position and then, we decided to expand via [the] franchise route,” PN Rao’s partners Ketan Pishe and Naveen Pishe told ET Retail. “We will be adopting the FOCO [franchise owned, company operated] model in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad where we already have operations, and in other locations, we will be promoting [the] FOFO [franchise owned, franchise operated] model.”
At present, PN Rao counts eight company owned, company operated stores across Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Along with its planned franchise launches, the business also aims to open a company owned, company operated store in Bengaluru next fiscal year to focus on its premium offering, ET Bureau reported. PN Rao’s average store size rests between 3,000 and 3,500 square feet and its upcoming ‘luxury store’ in Bengaluru will measure around 2,000 square feet.
The brand’s upcoming franchise stores will measure from 2,500 to 3,000 square feet in metro and Tier 1 cities with its Tier 2 stores coming in smaller at around 1,500 square feet. PN Rao will focus the majority if its initial expansion efforts on South India to connect with southern shoppers.
