Lucknow: After a setback against Legends on Wednesday, Speed Chargers roared back with a commanding 4-1 victory over Prime Health City. Veterans Rakesh Seth and Rajesh Narain led the charge, winning 4-3 against SK Dwivedi and Dr Sudhir Kapoor. Despite Dhruv Seth’s strong win in the first match, Prime Health City faltered, losing the remaining games 4-3 and 5-4. The stage is set for an exciting final on Sunday, where Speed Chargers aim to defend their title against Legends. Meanwhile, Ramswaroop Tigerz will face Prime Health City for third place. The winner will receive Rs 5 lakh, while the runners-up will get Rs 3 lakh.
Winning start for Lucknow
Shubham led the way for Lucknow, scoring seven goals as the hosts opened their campaign with a 19-12 win over Amethi in the Senior Open State-Level Men’s Handball Championship at KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium on Saturday.In other matches, Amethi outclassed Basti 24-16 while Gorakhpur defeated Prayagraj 19-14. In the last match of the day, Varanasi beat Muzaffarnagar 17-11. Earlier, secretary of UP police sports control board, Kirit Rathod and UP handball association general secretary Anandeshwar Pandey inaugurated the event.
Mumtaz College win
Mumtaz PG College defeated DAV College by 50 runs in the inaugural match of the 52nd Sundari Devi Memorial Cricket Tournament at KKC Ground on Saturday. Batting first, Mumtaz College posted 167/8 in 20 overs. In reply, DAV College was bundled out for 117 in 15.3 overs. Earlier, former Ranji Trophy player Asif Zafar inaugurated the tournament.
