Tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch who is called the British Bill Gates went missing after the Bayesian superyacht with 22 people on board — including two Americans and a Canadian — sank off the coast in Sicily during a violent storm Monday. The 59-year-old entrepreneur is the founder of Autonomy Corporation. His wife Angela Bacares was also on board but is one of the 15 rescued from the 56-meter sailing boat.One body was found near the wreck, but six others were unaccounted for, Luca Cari, a spokesperson for the Italian fire rescue service said to The Guardian.
Who is Mike Lynch?

Lynch co-founded Autonomy, a software firm that pioneered in the UK tech scene, in the mid-90s.

He was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to enterprise in 2006, and appointed in 2011 to the science and technology council of the then prime minister, David Cameron.

He was elected as a fellow to the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2008 and the Royal Society in 2014.

He was accused of inflating sales, misleading regulators and duping his eventual buyer and was first charged in 2018.

In June this year, he was cleared of all charges at a trial in the US on 15 counts of fraud he had faced over the $11.1bn purchase of Autonomy by Hewlett-Packard in 2011.

How did the superyacht sink?
The yacht flying the British flag sank near Porticello at about 5am following the storm. Eight of those rescued, including the one-year-old, were transferred to local hospitals and were all in a stable condition.
According to Nautic Link, the yacht was built in 2008 by Italian company Perini Navi with an initial asking price of 35 million euros (£30 million). According to the leasing company Yacht Charter Fleet, the boat is furnished with a “Japanese-style” interior. It has been designed to accommodate up to 12 guests in six suites, along with ten crew members. The Bayesian was awarded the best exterior styling at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards.
Who is the owner of Bayesian superyacht?
According to BBC, the luxury yacht is linked to Mike Lynch’s wife. According to Equasis, a maritime data service, the Bayesian is owned by Revtom, a firm registered in the Isle of Man. Angela Bacares is named as the sole legal owner, with an address registered in London.
