Former Rajya Sabha MP: Son of former Rajya Sabha MP arrested in UP for defrauding property seller | Lucknow Information
BARABANKI: Police right here have arrested the son of former Rajya Sabha member Banwari Lal Kanchal on the costs of defrauding a Lucknow-based property seller of over Rs 2 crore and threatening to kill him, officers stated on Saturday. In line with the police, Amit Kanchal and his six associates have been booked for fraud, tampering with paperwork, prison intimidation and intentional insult with intent to disturb peace.
Station Home Officer (SHO) of Kotwali Nagar Police station Ajay Kumar Tripathi stated Banwari Lal Kanchal’s son Amit Kanchal, a resident of Shastri Nagar in Lucknow, was arrested on Friday from close to his home.
Amit Kanchal and his associates allegedly took Rs 2.20 crore from complainant Rituraj Singh by promising to get him a plot of land, the police official stated.
Singh, in his criticism to the police additionally claimed that on January 14 when he demanded the cash again, Amit Kanchal threatened to kill him, the SHO stated.
