BJP vs Congress, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray, Ajit Pawar Sharad Pawar

Mumbai:

Maharashtra is witnessing a detailed contest between the ruling Nationwide Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition INDIA bloc as votes are counted for the 48 Lok Sabha seats within the state. The NDA is at present main on 26 seats, whereas the INDIA alliance is forward on 20.

The elections within the state had been fought in a modified political panorama after splits within the Shiv Sena and NCP following rebellions by Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

In 2019, the BJP gained 23 seats in Maharashtra and its then ally Shiv Sena (undivided) bagged 18. The then undivided NCP had bagged 4 constituencies, whereas the Congress might win only one seat.

Maharashtra sends the second greatest contingent to the LS after Uttar Pradesh’s 80 and the result right here might have a bearing on the form of the federal government on the Centre.

A number of large names are within the fray, together with Nitin Gadkari, Narayan Rane, Piyush Goyal, Bharti Pawar, Raosaheb Danve, Kapil Patil, all Union Ministers, Navneet Kaur-Rana, Ujjwal Nikam, Dr Shrikant Shinde, Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale, Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare, and others.
