25 Injured In Firecracker Explosion Throughout Puri’s Jagannath Competition: Cops

Fifteen folks acquired burn accidents after a heap of firecrackers exploded throughout Lord Jagannath’s Chandan Jatra competition in Odisha’s Puri on Wednesday evening, police stated.

Tons of of individuals had gathered on the banks of Narendra Pushkarinee, a waterbody, to witness the rituals when the accident occurred, they stated.

A gaggle of devotees have been celebrating the competition with crackers. Abruptly, a splinter from the burning crackers struck the heap, resulting in the explosion, they added.

The burning crackers then hit the folks gathered on the spot, and a few of them, even jumped into the waterbody to avoid wasting themselves, police stated.

The injured individuals have been admitted to the district hospital, and the situations of 4 of them have been essential, a physician stated.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over the incident and directed officers involved to make sure correct therapy of the injured.

He stated the price of the therapy can be borne by the Chief Minister’s Aid Fund.
