BAHRAICH: In a historic feat, Aarti, 18, an e-rickshaw driver from a village in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, was conferred with Amal Clooney Girls’s Empowerment Award, named after the world-renowned human rights barrister, on the Prince’s Belief Awards in London on Wednesday.
Publish award ceremony, the woman from Bahraich received to satisfy King Charles III on the Buckingham Palace in London.
She was feted for uplifting different younger women by her work with the government’s pink e-rickshaw initiative, which gives secure transport for different ladies.
Aarti was one of many 5 deprived ladies, particularly Bitta, Sayra, Megha, Shiv Kumari to grow to be drivers of pink e-rickshaw on town streets chosen beneath the Nationwide City Livelihood Mission to grow to be self-reliant.
The modern initiative, spearheaded by Bahraich district Justice of the Peace Monika Rani, was launched on Gandhi Jayanti in 2023.

Aarti, a resident of the Risiya block in Bahraich district, was felicitated with the UK Royal Award throughout an occasion organized by Prince’s Belief in collaboration with the Aga Khan Basis.
DM Monika Rani congratulated Aarti on receiving the award, emphasizing its significance in bolstering ladies’s empowerment efforts in Bahraich.
She expressed confidence that Aarti’s journey would encourage ladies within the district to pursue self-reliance and script new narratives of empowerment.
