Congress replaces candidates in 5 Odisha Meeting constituencies

The Congress on Might 5 modified its candidates in 5 meeting constituencies in Odisha whereas naming Akshaya Acharya from the Nilgiri Meeting seat.

The get together has nominated former Minister and four-time MLA Debashish Nayak for the Bari Meeting constituency changing Arati Deo. Mr. Nayak had joined the Congress on Might 4 after BJP denied him a ticket.

Mr. Nayak had joined the BJP in February from the BJD. Mr. Nayak was elected to the State Meeting from the Bari Meeting seat in 2000, 2004, 2009 and 2014 on the BJD ticket.

Congress spokesperson Sudarshan Das has been nominated for the Jaleswar Meeting constituency changing Debi Prasanna Chand. For the Athamallik Meeting phase, the get together has fielded Himanshu Chaulia rather than Bijayananda Chaulia whereas Sujit Mahapatra has been changed by Uma Ballav Rath for the Puri Meeting phase.

Sudarshan Sahoo is the brand new Congress nominee for the Athagarh Meeting phase. The get together had earlier nominated Maheboob Ahmad Khan for the seat.

On Might 4, the get together modified its Puri Lok Sabha constituency candidate Sucharita Mohanty after she returned the ticket on account of alleged lack of funding from the get together. The Congress has nominated Jay Narayan Patnaik for the Puri Lok Sabha constituency.

With this checklist, the Congress get together has introduced candidates for 145 out of 147 Meeting segments in Odisha. The Congress has left one seat for JMM and one other for CPI (M).

The Lok Sabha and Meeting elections will likely be held concurrently in Odisha in 4 phases from Might 13 to June 1.
