The Excessive Court docket on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction over the standing report filed by the State authorities over the compliance with the short-term measures instructed by an professional committee to guard Durgam Cheruvu in Hyderabad.

A Bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti, whereas listening to a suo moto taken up PIL petition, noticed that no timeline was specified within the compliance report filed by the State authorities.

The Bench directed the professional committee to go to Durgam Cheruvu and file a report on how and to what extent the short-term steps instructed by the committee had been being applied by the federal government.

The committee includes Nationwide Environmental Engineering Analysis Institute, Nagpur, director Atul Narayan Vaidya, Irrigation and Command Space Growth Principal Secretary and Excessive Court docket secretary M. Shanti Vardhani. The committee, as per the Bench’s route, would go to assess to what extent the short-term measures had been being enforced for the safety of the lake.

The Bench instructed Advocate Basic A. Sudarshan Reddy to make sure the expenditure involving the go to of the professional committee to Durgam Cheruvu, together with transportation and lodging, had been borne by the federal government.
