Begum Akhtar: Shaam-e-ghazal for the queen of ghazals Begum Akhtar | Lucknow Information

To recollect the legacy of Begum Akhtar, on her 109th beginning anniversary, college students of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vidyalaya organized an occasion titled, Yad-e-Begum-Akhtar at Kala Mandapam auditorium.

The melodious night commenced with a gap act by the scholars of the college, Naman Singh and Anjali Patel performing the well-known tune by Akhtar, Mere Humnafas Mere Humnava.Adopted by the star of the present, well-known Marathi singer,Sangeeta Nerukar, who travelled from Pune. Sangeeta caught everybody’s eager consideration together with her mellifluous voice and skilful illustration of her life journey by shayrs, anecdotes and ghazals. Malini Awasthi, current within the viewers, shared, “Lucknow is synonymous with Begum Akhtar’s title. I’m glad Bhatkhande took this initiative to rejoice the icon within the business who mastered the universe of music like no one else.”
