Heavy rain batters Tamil Nadu, faculties shut; orange alert in components of Kerala


Heavy rains proceed to lash a number of components of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The India Meteorological Division (IMD) has predicted the opportunity of heavy rains in remoted locations in Kerala till November 24.

In view of the heavy rains prediction, the Tamil Nadu authorities has issued an order to shut all authorities and personal faculties right now in Thirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Viruthunagar, Pudhukottai, Niligiri districts.

The IMD had issued a pink alert for Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state on November 22. Pathanamthitta Collector, A Shibu, issued an order prohibiting night time journey between 7.00 pm to six.00 am and vacationer actions like kayaking and boating within the hilly areas of Pathanamthitta district from till November 24.

The order was issued in view of the opportunity of heavy steady rainfall corresponding to localised small floods, mudslides and landslides.
