BAREILLY: Police on Sunday detained a 38-year-old girl and her daughter for allegedly providing namaz at a Shiva temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly together with a cleric, officers mentioned.
They mentioned the motion was taken after police acquired a criticism from the Kesarpur village head’s husband, Prem Singh, who alleged that the incident passed off on Friday.
Circle Officer (CO) of the realm Gaurav Singh mentioned the lady and her daughter allegedly supplied namaz on the temple on the cleric’s recommendation.
“We’ve detained one Nazeer (38), her daughter Sabina (19) and cleric Chaman Shah Miyan in a case of wounding spiritual sentiments,” he mentioned.
Primarily based on the criticism lodged by Prem Singh, an FIR was registered beneath IPC sections 295A (act to outrage spiritual emotions of a neighborhood) and 120B (felony conspiracy), and an investigation was launched, the CO mentioned.
“The trio has been detained and is being questioned,” he added.
