Professor Mahesh G Thakkar has been appointed as the brand new director of the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (BSIP), Lucknow on Monday.

Thakkar was earlier working as the top of the division of earth and environmental science and dean of the school of science at KSKV, Kachchh College, Gujarat.
As per the institute, he’ll function the director for the following 5 years.
