LUCKNOW: The Election Fee of India (ECI) will conduct a bypoll for a Rajya Sabha seat from Uttar Pradesh, which turned vacant following the passing of the sitting member, Hardwar Dubey of the BJP, on June 25.
The polling date is ready for September 15, and the counting of votes will happen on the identical day after polling concludes at 4 pm, as managed by the ECI.
The ultimate date for submitting nominations for the bypoll is September 5, whereas the deadline for withdrawing candidature is September 8.
Hardwar Dubey, aged 75, was initially slated to function a Rajya Sabha member till November 2026. Nevertheless, on account of his surprising demise, the ECI determined to carry a bypoll.
